Scandinavian Tobacco Group-Estelí is located in Estelí, Nicaragua, and is a fully-integrated factory where all aspects of cigar making, from fermentation, sorting, stripping, cigar making, aging and packaging all take place under the same roof.

The STG factory and the cigars it produces, boasts a long history of cigar making in Nicaragua and has the distinction for the good quality of the products wich is our pride. With its purchase of Latin Cigars de Nicaragua S.A, STG acquired a tenured group of cigar makers, many of whom began producing handmade cigars since 1997.  In fact, many of the original Latin Cigars employees still work for the company today, with great pride in their cigar-making experience.

STG produces some of the world’s most renowned cigars, each individually handcrafted to perfection by skilled artisans.  Some of the factory’s most famous brands include CAO®, Carlos Toraño®, La Traviata®, Exodus 50-59®. Most of STG-Esteli cigars are sold in the United States, with select brands enjoying distribution in more than 65 countries worldwide located in Europe, Asia, Africa and the United States.

 

Each of the cigars handcrafted at STG-Estelí feature tobacco from the best tobacco regions of the world, including:  Brazil, Indonesia, Peru, Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Ecuador, Alemania, Mexico, Costa Rica, Cameroon. STG-Esteli also enjoys good relationship with the Plasencia Group, a family-owned tobacco growing operation highly regarded for its leaf growing, processing, and cigar making expertise in both Honduras and Nicaragua. It is this alliance with the Plasencia Group and other growers and distributors that STG-Esteli guarantees access to the best tobacco available.

 

There are around 300 employees who participate in helping to bring the critically-acclaimed cigars produced at the STG-Esteli factory to the market. To attract and retain talented employees, STG Esteli is proud to compensate its staff well above the minimum government salary.
